Registration and Login

All the questions and answers are visible to all users, even those who haven’t logged in. For most of the other functionality, you need to make a user and log in. As you contribute by asking or answering questions, you will gradually be given more permissions, as outlined in Permissions and Points. The first permission to look forward to is the ability to give a question or answer an up vote to show that you think it is good and relevant.

When creating a user, you have a few options. You can let Facebook, Google+ or Twitter send us the information we need. They will send your name, e-mail, and profile photo. We will not be able to see any of your posts or friends on the social network. If you use this option you can also login to the site later by just clicking the logo, no need for password, assuming that you’re already logged into that social network on your device.

If you either do not have a social network account or don’t want to use it to create a user, you may also create one from scratch. Just enter a username and your e-mail address. After a short while, you’ll receive an e-mail with a link to create a password. Once you have created your password, you’re all set to log in.

By hovering your mouse above your name in the top right corner of the screen, you will see a menu. Here you can edit your profile. If you used one of the social network options, most of the information in the profile will already be filled out. On the other hand, if you made the user manually it would be nice if you updated your profile with first and last name as well as a profile photo.
